Richard Haggar said Widnes Wild are full of determination heading into a double-header versus Blackburn Hawks. After back-to-back losses in the NIHL Division 1 North, Widnes Wild claimed an important 8-4 victory over Solihull and sit in third in Division One North with five games left to play.

Widnes Wild are in top three of the league after one win and one loss from a tough weekend against two of the top four teams. With only a handful of games remaining, the race is on to claim the title and teams are looking towards the play-offs.

Latvian Vlads Vulkanov bagged himself a hat-trick and an assist to help secure a 7-2 victory for Widnes Wild at Planet Ice. Widnes returned to winning ways with an excellent showing against a struggling Nottingham Lions side.

Widnes Wild player-coach Richard Haggar believes his side will take a lot of lessons away from their shootout loss to the Solway Sharks. "For me, I’m happy with the performance," Haggar said.

A spirited Widnes Wild side lost 6-5 to Solway Sharks after a penalty shootout. The Wild started the first quarter the stronger of the two sides in the NIHL Division One North clash.
