Liverpool Ladies goalkeeper Anke Preuss has been rewarded with the Standard Chartered Player of the month for September.

The award recognises the goalkeeper’s incredible performances in all 4 matches contested in September.

Anke was presented the award by the team’s manager at the team’s training base at Solar Campus.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, she said: “It’s always really nice to be recognised for your individual performance so I’m really pleased to receive the award but, of course, for me everything is about the team”.

Manager Vicky Jepson heaped praise on her goalkeeper by adding: “It’s really good to see Anke high in confidence, making big, big saves in big moments of the game when we’ve needed her”, the boss said.

Despite Preuss showing great from however, it’s been a tough month for the Liverpool Ladies. Suffering losses to Reading, Tottenham and Manchester United in the WSL alone.

A further defeat to Sheffield United in the WSL cup group stages outlines a tough start for the LFC ladies.

The women picked up their first point against Bristol City after previously sitting at 5 successive losses. They will be hoping this turn of fortune can continue heading into the next matches.

Up next is another WSL Cup group stage bout against Coventry United this coming Sunday (October 20th).
