Liverpool’s Natasha Jonas is set to face newly crowned WBC woman’s super-featherweight champion, Terri Harper.

The bout will take place at the Doncaster Dome on April 24th at the top of the bill.

Also on the JD NXTGEN card are up and coming fighters such as Shannon Courtenay, Kieron Conway, Anthony Tomlinson and Dalton Smith.

‘Miss GB’ was last in action in November when she blew away Bianka Majlath within two rounds on an MTK Liverpool card.

The 35-year-old came into the pro game back in 2017 with a lot of hype surrounding her but suffered a shock defeat in her seventh fight and since then has had to rebuild.

There were rumours circulating that Jonas might have been switching things up in her career with a change to MMA, but for the meantime she is still very much staying in boxing.

The Liverpudlian is one of Britain’s most highly decorated and elite amateurs. She won a bronze medal in the 2011 European Championships, followed by another bronze in the 2012 World Championships. Jonas then captured silver at the 2014 European Championships in Bucharest.

Jonas was the first-ever British female boxer to compete at an Olympic Games. At London 2012, she made it to the quarter-final before losing to four-time World Champion, Katie Taylor. Taylor was also the flag-bearer at the Games for Ireland.

Her opponent, Terri Harper, is really only starting her career and has looked flawless so far. Last time out, she defeated long reigning champion Eva Wahlstrom, comprehensively out boxing the champion and winning via unanimous decision.

Harper, like Taylor, will likely go on to do great things in boxing. However, Jonas will be chomping at the bit from now until fight night, hoping to become a world champion.
