Southport 0- 0 Hereford

A stalemate between the two teams on their opening game leaves a lot to be desired for their next fixture. Southport came closest, hitting the underside of the crossbar twice but it was the Hereford keeper who stole man of the match making an early figure tip save.

North West County League – Premier Division

Bootle P – P 1874 Northwitch

With only half the fixtures in the division taking place after local lockdown restrictions came into the north west last week, Bootle were one of the unlucky few who saw their match postponed. The Berry Street Stadium is now closed for the next two weeks as Bootle still wait to start their campaign.

North west County League – First division North

AFC Liverpool 2 – 2 Pilkington

This seasons opener at Rosset park started well for the visitors going 2 -1 up by the half. After the break the non- league reds fought back to grab a late equalizer and earn themselves a point. Pilkington FC now sit top of the league with four points from their opening two games.

North West County League – First Division South

Cammell Laird 1907 1-0 Barnton

A 89th minute penalty was all that separated the sides after a tight game. The victory for Cammell Laird as they now have two wins and two clean sheets from an electric start to the season with Barnton looking to bounce back from what they thought was an undeserved result.

Northern Premier League – North West division

City of Liverpool P – P Ramsbottom united

After losing their manager at the start of the week things only got harder for the team in purple as local lockdowns forced their fixture against unbeaten Ramsbottom to be postponed. With no points in their first three games the city of Liverpool will be looking for something against Brighouse Town to build the morale for the season ahead.

Widnes 0-2 Marine

Marine picked up their first win of the season against strugglers Widnes, who have lost both of their starting games. Josh Hmami scored twice for the travellers and a late sending off for a Widnes caused their day to go from bad to worse.
