01:15 – That’s it for an eventual deadline day. A lot of ins and outs from both the red and blue side of Merseyside.

01:00 – Minamino joins Southampton on loan

Liverpool striker Takumi Minamino has joined Southampton on loan till the end of the season.

Southampton will pay £500,000 up front with no option to buy at the end of the loan.

23:56 – Gordon moves to Preston on loan

Everton midfielder Anthony Gordon has joined Championship side Preston on loan till the end of the season.

The winger joins Preston after the signing of Joshua King from fellow Championship outfit Bournemouth.

23:18 – Everton land King

Everton have secured the signing of Bournemouth forward Joshua King on a short-term deal till the end of the season.

22:00 – Kabak deal confirmed

Ozan Kabak has signed for Liverpool for an initial six month loan move with an option to buy for £18 million in the summer.

20:00 – Ben Davies signs for Liverpool

Liverpool have completed the signing of Ben Davies from Preston.

The 25-year-old centre-back has signed on a long-term contract.

18:58 –  Joshua King bid

Everton are still pursuing Josh King of Bournemouth.

They’ve now made an offer from their enquiry earlier today.

16:45 – Kabak deal edges closer

Ozan Kabak’s move to Liverpool edges ever closer.

It has been reported that the Turkish international has said goodbye to his teammates.

The deal is almost done.

16:07 – Liverpool new offer for Carmo

Accroding to Sky Sports, Liverpool have contacted Braga over the signing of defender David Carmo.

There is no agreement as of right now but a loan move with option to buy may be on the table.

15:52 – Offloading players the priority for Ancelotti 

Despite interest in Bournemouth striker Joshua King, Everton remain committed on offloading players before any arrive.

Everton have already offloaded Cenk Tosun and Jonjoe Kenny already on deadline day.

The toffees want to add a experienced centre-forward to their ranks following the sale of Tosun.

15:36 – Kenny joins Celtic on loan

Jonjoe Kenny has completed his move to Celtic from Everton.

The right-back will join the Scottish champions on loan till the end of the season.

15:30 – Everton make King enquiry 

Bournemouth have recived an enquiry from Everton for Joshua King.

No offer as yet but interest is greater than at the start of the day.

15:15 – Kabak medical successful so far – Davies paperwork complete

Ozan Kabak’s first stages of his Liverpool medical has been successful.

Liverpool’s second centre-back signing Ben Davies is nearer completion after all the paperwork is signed and agreed between Liverpool and Preston.

 

15:00 – Mustafi terminates contract – Kabak deal almost done

Shkodran Mustafi has terminated his contract with Arsenal, allowing Liverpool’s Kabak deal to edge closer.

Schalke are set to sign him as his replacement as the last steps are in place for the deal to be finalised tonight.

14:35 – Van den Berg arrives for Preston medical

Sepp Van den Berg has arrived in Preston ahead of his loan move to the Championship side.

The deal involves Ben Davies who moves to the Premier League champions for a reported £2 million.

14:30 – “It’s a blow” Lennon on Davies to Liverpool.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has said how close the Scottish champions were to signing Ben Davies from Preston.

“It’s a blow because we were very close to doing that and obviously we got gazumped at the last minute by Liverpool.”

14:10 – Neil Lennon gives Kenny update

Speaking on deadline day, Neil Lennon expects Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny to complete his move by the end of today.

“We just need the paperwork to be finished.

“He has been in the building, he travelled up last night so hopefully we can get that signed and sealed this afternoon.”

14:08 – David Carmo bid rejected

According to Simone Rovera (@simonerovera), Liverpool have had a bid rejected for Braga centre-back David Carmo.

The bid is reported to be under the 30 million euro release clause and he will only leave if the clause is met.

13:56 – Rooney targets Baningime

Derby County are preparing a late deadline day move for Everton midfielder Beni Baningime.

Former Everton striker and current Derby manager Wayne Rooney has enquired about the midfielder’s availability.

According to Football Insider, Rooney is an admirer of the 22-year-old who he played with during his second spell at Goodison Park.

13:45 – Kabak to Liverpool loan with option, not obligation

The proposed loan transfer of Ozan Kabak to Liverpool will have an option to buy.

This means the reds do not have any obligation to buy the Turkish international, should the potential loan not work out as expected.

However, the deal is still dependent on Mustafi going to Schalke before everything is finalised.

13:40 – King still available for the toffees

In the past hour, the Cherries have suggested that they would be open to letting the forward go before the deadline.

King’s contract is up in the summer and Bournemouth are looking to recoup some money for the Norwegian forward.

13:08 – Caleta Car never boarded plane – deal off

Liverpool directed their attention to Kabak after the deal for Caleta Car was cancelled last night.

Despite having terms agreed, Marseille did not allow the defender to board the plane to Manchester after a quick U-turn.

According to Sky Sports, Marseille’s concerns over finding a replacement centre-back in time before tonight’s deadline brought the deal to an end.

12:55 – RUMOUR: Diego Costa to Everton?

Diego Costa has been linked to Everton in the past hour.

An unnamed Premier League club have offered the Spaniard a short-term deal to the end of the season.

Cenk Tosun’s departure yesterday has seen the toffees light in the striking department and without a backup to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

12:45 – Kabak personal terms agreed

Ozan Kabak and Liverpool have reached an agreement over contract and personal terms.

Schalke and Liverpool have basically an agreement over intricacies of the deal.

12:24: Mustafi close to Schalke deal – opens up Kabak sale

According to @Transfermarkt, Schalke are on the verge of signing former Arsenal and Everton centre-back Shkodran Mustafi.

The defender will replace Kabak who is set, pending medical, to join Liverpool on loan till the end of the season.

12:15 – Bremer the backup if Kabak deal falls through

According to Matteo Pedrosi (@matteopedrosi) Liverpool are planning to sign Gleison Bremer from Torino should the Kabak deal fall through.

No contact has been made between club to club but the Premier League Champions have contacted Bremer’s agent.

11:58 – Enquiry made for Tapsoba

Liverpool’s search for a second centre-back continues as they pull out of a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

The reds enquired for the 22-year-old but his price tag was too expensive for the reds at 50 million euros.

11:55 – Van den Berg set for Preston loan switch

Liverpool youngster Sepp Van den Berg is set to join Preston on loan till the end of the season.

The deal comes with Preston defender Ben Davies set to move in the other direction to the Premier League champions.

11:45 – Kabak meets with Schalke medical team

Ozan Kabak has arrived at Schalke’s medical facility ahead of a potential medical.

Schalke want 30 million euros as the obligation to buy at the end of the loan deal.

11:15 – ‘No Chance’ for Perisic

Everton’s faint hopes of signing a winger on deadline day have hit a stumbling block as Inter CEO rules out any sales

10:25 – Kabak medical booked in Germany

Liverpool have a medical booked for Schalke defender Ozan Kabak should a move be agreed.

A £2.5m loan fee with an obligation to buy in the summer is reported to be on the table.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in a race against time to complete the move with Schalke looking to find a replacement for the Turkish international.

The deadline in Germany is 5pm UK time.

10:10 – King wanted at Everton

Bournemouth’s Joshua King is on the radar of Everton ahead of the deadline tonight.

According to The Athletic, the toffees are interested in the 29-year-old who has scored 48 goals in 161 top-flight appearances.

10:00 – Davies set for Liverpool move

Preston defender Ben Davies is set to join Premier League champions Liverpool on deadline day.

The fee – £2 million – will be in instalments based on appearances and performance. Liverpool are set to pay just £500,000 up front with their search for a second centre-back ongoing.

Davies will have his medical this morning and is set to be confirmed later this evening ahead of tonight’s 11pm deadline.

9:45 – Lossl joins FC Midtjylland

Everton goalkeeper Jonas Lossl has returned to Danish side FC Midtjylland on a free transfer.

Lossl returns to his homeland to re-join his first club having made his senior debut for Midtjylland in 2010.

The 32-year-old joined the Toffees from Huddersfield in the summer of 2019 but did not make a first-team appearance for Carlo Ancelotti’s side and spent the second half of last season back on loan with the Terriers.

9:15 – Caleta-Car deal in the balance

Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Marseille defender Caleta-Car but the deal hinges on Marseille finding a replacement.

This is looking increasingly unlikely but Liverpool are hopeful for the French club to reach an agreement by the deadline.

9:00 – Kenny set for Celtic loan

Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny is set to join Scottish Premiership champions Celtic on loan for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old has appeared for Ancelotti just four times in the Premier League this term, playing a total of just 80 minutes.
