Cheshire county 3,000M runner Amy-Eliose Markovc will be taking part in the Women’s heats today at the European Indoor Athletics Championship being held in Torun, Poland.
Marckovc could also face other Team GB members Amelia Quirk and Verity Ockenden.
The Cheshire runner has the best time at the moment for this event at nearly nine minutes, however she is behind Ockenden with a three-second time difference and ahead of Quirk by four seconds.

Markovc has been performing at events so far this season in the USA and has only completed the event once at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix hosted in New York just before Valentine’s day where she came in seventh place.
She also competed in the two-mile event at the Grand Prix and finished seventh again.
Furthermore, she has also taken part in the mile event on first February at Virginia Beach Invitational where she came in second place.
