Nathan Fletcher has announced he will be moving up to featherweight at Cage Warriors 146 to help find an opponent.

Fletcher usually competes at bantamweight but has been unable to find an opponent in the division to fight against on Saturday.

He was originally scheduled to face Cameron Else at Cage Warriors 145 last Friday but, as revealed exclusively to Merseysportlive, Else pulled out of the bout a month before it was scheduled.

Fletcher said on Instagram that nine or 10 people had turned down a fight with him in the last five weeks. The Southport Strangler said: “It’s been a long 13 months for me to get to this spot. I’ve overcome many obstacles this year and, because of these, I am now a much better fighter and man than I was a year ago.”

He added: “Anyway, I’m up at featherweight now to try and entice someone to step up. My division is full of maggots. I’ve got faith everything will work out and this Saturday night I’ll be back doing what I do best.”
