The Women’s Super League Merseyside derby on March 26 has been moved to Everton’s Goodison Park.

The match will be the first derby to take place at the 39,000 capacity ground in the WSL.

The reverse fixture was played at Anfield in September in front of more than 27,000 fans.

The match broke the Liverpool Women’s record attendance.

Everton ran out 3-0 winners on the night, with Megan Finnigan, Jessica Park and Hanna Bennison all getting their names on the scoresheet.

The Blues have played their home matches at Walton Hall Park since February 2020. The ground has a capacity of 2,200.

Everton’s record attendance this season was 1,752 when they faced Manchester United in the WSL in October.

Goodison was set to host its first ever derby in March 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the fixture going ahead.

Liverpool were relegated off the back of the cancelled 2019/20 season but were promoted back the following season.

The last time Goodison Park hosted a WSL match was Everton’s clash with Manchester City in September 2021.

The Citizens ran out 4-0 winners in front of a crowd of just under 6,000 fans, Everton’s current record attendance.

The Blues will be hoping to smash their record next month.

Tickets go on sale on February 10 and will be available from Everton’s website.
