Undefeated junior welterweight contender Liam Paro has withdrawn from scheduled bout against Liverpool native Robbie Davies Jr.

The fight was scheduled to take place in Liverpool on March 11th. A facial fracture sustained during training has put end to these plans.

The US based Aussie has reportedly suffered a 3mm fracture, as revealed following a CT scan.

This comes according to Fox Sports‘ Ben Damon, who reveals Paro is “absolutely gutted” that he has had to withdraw from this anticipated fight.

Davies Jr, 33, is yet to have a replacement opponent announced.

The former European light-welterweight champion is on a three fight win streak. He will be hopeful of finding a new opponent in order to continue his momentum.

Liam Paro, 26, is currently undefeated at 23-0 with this fight set to be the most challenging to date for the Australian against an experienced veteran.

The fight was set to take place on the undercard of Scouse light heavyweight contender Callum Smith.

Smith is returning to action against Pawel Stepien, headlining the event in his home city.
