Marine AFC are hoping to bring a recently discovered 1903 season ticket back to the club’s stadium for fans to view.
The remarkable find by Everton memorabilia collector, Dr David France, in the American state of Arizona has received great interest from supporters of the Crosby side.
France has since passed the 120-year-old ticket to Mariner’s fan, Peter Mills, who presented the ticket to club chairman Paul Leary in mint condition.
Leary said: “I am in negotiations with Peter’s (Mills) family, to hopefully lend the ticket to Marine for a period of 10 years, so we can put it on display.”
Performance analyst at the club, Seán Ó Dochartaigh, believes the display of the ticket at Marine will drive a great deal of traffic from non-League followers across the country.
He said: “In non-League as a whole, a lot of people will want to go and see the ticket due to it being an exciting part of history.”
The ticket is from the first season the Lilywhites moved to College Road and could soon be back at the Marine Travel Arena for fans to enjoy.
