Widnes Wild face a tough double header on the road this weekend, looking to bounce back from two losses.

First up is the Solihull barons on Saturday, for the first time this season, and there are hardly fond memories of the West Midlands, after suffering defeat all three of their games at Solihull Ice Rink.

Then it’s a hike up to the North East to face Whitley Warriors on Sunday. This is the third face off between the two sides this season. The Merseysiders, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, lost 4-1 last time away from home, but they bounced back when the Warriors visited the Planet Ice Rink winning 5-2.

The wild have currently only played seven games this season, the lowest in the NIHL 1 North. After seven games they find themselves second from bottom. They have every incentive to make up ground but both sides this weekend are tough outfits and will be hard to beat away from home.

Overall, so far the Widnes wild story has been a success with seven trophies including the League and the Play-off cup.
