Ex-Liverpool favourite and Arsenal starter Taylor Hinds could be in line to make her senior debut for England despite playing for Jamaica just last year.
She has been named in England boss Serina Wiegman’s squad to face Brazil and Australia in international friendlies next week.
Wiegman said: “I had the conversation with her and she wanted to come in. She feels really close to England.
“We are going into a new cycle in qualifying for the World Cup and I want to see talented players in some positions.”
The game against Brazil is at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on October 25, with England facing Australia at Derby’s Pride Park on October 28.
Hinds made her senior international debut for Jamaica against France last October, but the Northampton born defender’s dual nationality means she is still eligible to play for England.
However, she wasn’t present in either the Jamaica or England squads, when they faced off in the 7-0 ‘farewell friendly’, the last game before the Lionesses departed for their European title defence, at Leicester’s King Power Stadium.

In her youth international career, the 26-year-old represented England, winning bronze at the 2016 under 17s World Cup in Japan and in again in 2018s under 20s Women’s World Cup.
At England youth level, she played alongside Lionesses favourites Alessia Russo, Ella Toone and Georgia Stanway and now Hinds comes into the squad following the international retirement announcement from Millie Bright and the injury to England’s Captain Leah Williamson.
Hinds signed for Everton in 2019, aged 20, then joined Liverpool in the 2021/22 season, helping the team to win promotion into the Women’s Super League under then boss Matt Beard.
She became the club’s third highest appearance maker behind Liverpool captain Gemma Bonner Ashley Hodson and, in 2023, Hinds was named vice captain. The club finished seventh behind their Merseyside rivals.

Hinds’ five-year contract with Liverpool Women expired in June 2025 and a month later it was announced she had joined the Women’s Champions League winners Arsenal.
