Since the victory at the FedEx Cup Tommy Fleetwood has found his groove after adding the DP India world tour to his Ryder Cup success.

His latest victory moves him from No. 94 to No. 25 in the Race to Dubai, a season-long competition to  crown the European Tour’s number one player.

This makes him eligible for the Abu Dhabi Championship and season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

At the Ryder Cup the Southport-born golfer secured four critical points before going on to add the DP India world tour last weekend.

The 34-year-old beat out the competition by two shots at the weekend after shooting seven under par on the final day for a score of 65 and 22 under for the weekend.

The DP India world tour win capped a remarkable stretch of form that’s been building for months.

Before India, Fleetwood had posted six top 10 finishes in his previous nine worldwide starts, including strong performances at the BMW PGA Championship and The Open.

The Englishman ranks among the top five on the DP World Tour in strokes gained and top 10 in scoring average for 2025.

After averaging just 265.8 yards off the tee, one of the shortest among the top finishers Fleetwood still took home the victory. This is due to his strong iron game as Fleetwood continues to show the skill he possesses with his irons.

Average driving distance of top 5 finishers at the DP world tour

The DP India course is often not easy for players opting for driver as its narrow fairways can leave players in trouble which may be why Fleetwood played short to play more accurately with his irons.

The shorter and more accurate that the players were driving led to lower scores. The average driving distance for the weekend was also lower than other golf events on average despite having a lot of big hitters.

Earnings without a win (millions)

Until the recent victories Fleetwood had been one of the highest earning golfers on the PGA tour without a win. Fleetwood made 168 starts in his PGA career before finally securing a trophy at the FedEx cup in August.

Going into the next season of golf Fleetwood’s turn of form and confidence has also shortened his odds at the bookies.

Last years Masters saw Fleetwood enter into the competition at 40-1 whereas for the 2026 edition –  even several months away – Fleetwood’s odds currently sit at 25-1 to win.
