Tranmere Rover’s boss Andy Crosby says his team must be consistent ahead of their home clash with Cheltenham Town FC in the EFL League Two tomorrow.
His side are set to take on the Robins in a 3pm kick-off at Prenton Park after a crucial victory in the EFL: Vertu Trophy against Blackpool.
This saw them qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
Crosby has voiced how much the club needed a reset following their late loss to Swindon Town last Saturday and expressed his content with performance against Blackpool.
He said: “There were things within the Swindon match I wasn’t happy with that the players weren’t happy with.
“So Monday felt like a reset for the whole group produced a really good performance in terms of the detail which we want to have in our game and a more consistent basis, hence why I’ve got some decisions to make for tomorrow.”
The 52-year-old also reflected on the team’s late loss against Swindon at the County Ground and says the team must make changes to perform better.
He said: “I’m sick of taking those on the chin, I have got to be honest.
“Another goal in the 93rd minute and losing that game, it still couldn’t have masked over things which were happening in that game, which we have to be eradicate. We have to change. We have to become better.”
Crosby has highlighted his hope of players returning for the team and being able to have more options for Saturday’s fixture.
He said: “We’re expecting a couple more and hoping and expecting a more to be back within the next ten days or so back on the grass.
“It doesn’t mean they’re available to gain straight away, obviously, but we are hopefully get a couple back in a couple weeks of max and tomorrow.”
The manager has said that the team needs to come together and the players must take responsibility for their performance and energise the fans at Prenton Park for tomorrow’s fixture.
He said: “It’s together we need to find and to bring but expecting a competitive game just like any other game in our league… it’s a collective responsibility.
“Some things you must produce every single week, and we must make sure that we find them tomorrow.”
