This afternoon’s PitchingIn Northern Premier Division between Warrington Rylands and Rushall Olympic has been postponed due to a frozen pitch, both clubs and the league have confirmed.
The home side broke the news on their Facebook page at around nine o’clock this morning as the match was scheduled for a 3pm kick-off.
The postponement comes at a difficult time for non-league clubs, as snow, ice and heavy rain prove a challenge for ground staff to provide safe playing conditions. With resources limited, many games have to be rescheduled at this time of year.
Rylands are yet to play in 2026, after their away trip to Prescot Cables last weekend was also postponed due to the weather. This means their last fixture was the 1-1 draw against rivals Warrington Town on Boxing Day.
The home side are still holding their place in the table, as play-off challengers Lancaster City are not going ahead with their match this weekend, either.
Rylands have said that more information on the rearranged feature will be released a soon as it is available.
