The Winslow Hotel has been on Goodison Road longer than the Old Grand Lady herself, but after 140 years, the historic pub is set to close its shutters for the last time on January 24th.
After the men’s football club bid farewell to Goodison Park back in May, many fans will feel as though this closure is another chapter of the club’s history coming to an end.
Moreover, the Winslow’s demise demonstrates the dire reality pubs face in 2026, after more than a pub a day closed down permanently in 2025 according to government statistics.
We spoke to two lifelong Blues to hear their thoughts on the iconic venue closing down.
