After nine seasons and eight major honours Mohamed Salah last night announced he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

In celebration we have came up with 11 of the most memorable moments the Egyptian winger had in a Liverpool shirt.

11 –  Solo goal vs Man City 21/22

During a thrilling encounter between Liverpool and Manchester City, Salah once again shown his class with a brilliant solo effort.  He evaded three defenders with supreme close control before he struck a right footed effort beyond Ederson in the Manchester City net.

 10 – 44 goal debut season

Salah’s debut season at Liverpool seemed to take everyone by surprise.  After being deemed a flop at Chelsea he arrived from Roma with a lot to prove.  Salah scored 44 goals in all competition equalling the record held by Ruud Van Nistelrooy.  He also scored 32 premier league goals breaking the record for most scored in a 38 game premier league season.

 9 – First Anfield goal

Salah’s first Anfield premier league goal truly shown his class and it was a sign of his world class quality.  Salah collected the ball in his own half, he brushed past multiple Arsenal defenders with his pace and strength before a clinical finish against Petr Cech in the Arsenal net.  Liverpool won this game 4-0 and it was a statement victory early in the season.

 8 – 2018 FIFA Puskas winner

Salah earned the 2018 FIFA Puskas Award after a stunning effort in the Merseyside derby.  Salah collected the ball on the edge of the box before beating two defenders and curling his effort into the top corner of the Everton net.  Winning the award didn’t come without debate with a number of Liverpool fans believing it wasn’t even his best goal of the 2017/18 season.

 7 – 250th Liverpool goal

Salah secured his 250th Liverpool goal in a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa earlier on this season.  The Egyptian latched onto a loose pass from Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez before slotting it into an empty Villa net.  Salah now sits 3rd in the all-time Liverpool scoring ranks with 255 goals, only behind Roger Hunt and Ian Rush.

6 –  Stunning strike vs Chelsea

In 2019 Salah scored one of the all time great Premier League goals against his former side Chelsea.  He picked the ball up from outside the area and brushed of Chelsea defender Emerson like he wasn’t there, he then struck a left footed strike from outside the area which rifled into the top corner of the Chelsea net.

 5-  Champions League final redemption

After heartbreak in Kiev in 2018 where Salah was forced off in the 31st minute after a clash with Sergio Ramos, the all English 2019 final in Madrid allowed Salah to right the wrongs from the previous season.  Salah smashed a second minute penalty past Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris setting Liverpool on their way to a comfortable 2-0 victory and a sixth champions league trophy.

 4 – Historic Old Trafford Hat-trick

On the 24th of October 2021 Salah further etched his name into the Liverpool history books with a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford.  Salah set up Naby Keita to open the scoring before himself scoring a first half brace.  He completed his hat-trick in the 50th minute becoming the first ever visiting player to score three at old Trafford in the premier league era.

3 – Champions league goal vs Manchester City

Liverpool had blown Manchester City away 3-0 in the first leg of the 2017/18 Champions league quarter final.  Despite this in the return leg Manchester City took an early lead.  Amongst the chaos of the match the ball fell to Salah who calmly clipped the ball over Ederson to secure Liverpool’s position and ensure their progression into the next round of the Champions League.

2  – Second Premier league title

Salah’s second premier league title capped off a truly remarkable season from the Egyptian winger.  Salah scored 29 premier league goals and had 18 assists as Liverpool ran away with the 2024/25 premier league.  This marked Liverpool’s 20th English league title equalling the record for the most won.  This title was also extra special as Liverpool got to lift the trophy in front of a packed-out Anfield unlike in the 2019/20 when the covid-19 pandemic had stadiums empty.

1 – First goal vs Manchester United

Salah’s first ever goal vs Manchester United in the 2019/20 was truly special.  Salah latched onto a long ball from goalkeeper Alisson, he was too strong and fast for Manchester United’s Daniel James, and he slotted it comfortably vs David De Gea.  The photo of Salah celebrating has become iconic with Liverpool fans, and it set Liverpool on their way to winning that elusive first premier league title.
