Current and former Premier League players have been tipped to take Mohamed Salah‘s Liverpool shirt next season.

Last night (March 24th), Salah announced to the sporting world that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

This came as a shock after the Egyptian signed a contract extension in April last year, running until 2027 worth over £400,000 per week.

The decision to leave has caused questions to be asked over who will replace Liverpool’s third highest goal-scorer.

According to the Daily Mirror, Premier League duo; Anthony Gordon and Jarrod Bowen and have been tipped to replace salah, whilst former Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has also been rumoured.

Perhaps a controversial rumour as a former Everton academy graduate. However, Gordon is a boyhood Liverpool fan. With 19 goal contributions across 37 Premier and Champions League games this season, the 25-year-old could be a good option to make the move back to Merseyside.

Jarrod Bowen

The West Ham United captain could be a like-for-like replacement for Salah, as a prolific, left-footed right winger. The Englishman has 15 goal contributions across 32 games this season in a relegation-stricken hammers side. Should the East London side go down, this transfer could materialise quite quickly.

Michael Olise

Perhaps the most lucrative rumour is London-born Frenchman Olise. The former Crystal Palace winger is no stranger to the Premier League, having recorded 16 goal contributions in 19 Premier League games in the 23/24 season. The 24-year-old is on fire this season, with 43 goal contributions in 39 games across all competitions for Bayern Munich this season. It will take a big offer from the Reds, as Bayern will be reluctant to sell.

It is unsure where Salah himself will end up next season. Bookmakers Paddy Power currently have any Saudi Pro League team as the favourite destination for the Egyptian at 8/11.

Followed by any MLS team at 15/8, and Salah’s former club Roma at 10/1. Please note these odds are subject to change.

Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa took to X to shut down any rumours of his player’s future so far.
