Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai says he’s working hard to get into even better shape, after two injury-hit months.
The Hungarian has had 10 goal contributions – six goals, four assists – in 31 appearances for the Reds since the start of the season.
Moving from Leipzig, Szoboszlai sparkled for Liverpool but the injury at the start of the year disrupted his fine rhythm, missing 10 games in January and February.
Speaking to Merseysportlive ahead of the UEFA Europa League clash against Sparta Prague, the 23-year-old feels he can even be better.
He said: “It happens also that you have really good games, you have less good games and you can have a bad game.
“None of us have had all the games 100% what we can really do.
“Especially my side, I’m working every day to get my best shape.
“If you think best shape was beginning of season, it wasn’t – I can be even better.”
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has adapted seamlessly to the Premier League
The Reds’ summer exodus saw Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlein, Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Naby Keita leave the club.
Szoboszlai signed for £60 million last summer as part of the midfield rebuild, which also saw the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.
The new midfield has been doing wonders despite injury concerns and the Hungarian says the new midfield’s level is right up to the Premier League level.
He said: “It is never easy to come into a new league, in a new team with new players.
“But I think we showed as a team we can reach almost everything – not yet, but we are on it.
“We had a completely new midfield with Macca, Endo, Ryan and me.
“We have shown we are ready to show up in the Premier League.”
