Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has mutually terminated his contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Sturridge joined the club in the summer after being released by Liverpool. He has scored seven goals in 13 appearances for the Turkish League leaders.

Trabzonspor released a statement saying:

“The professional footballer contract signed between our company and our professional footballer Daniel Andre Sturridge, dated 21.08.2019 and ending 31.05.2021 has been mutually terminated.”

Being a free agent, Sturridge is available to any team currently in the transfer window.

The MLS looks a potential option as the league does not have a transfer window, the only stumbling block is that he would have to be named as a designated player.

During his time at Liverpool, Sturridge played a vital role scoring 67 goals in 160 appearances. The 2013/14 league campaign saw him form a formidable partnership with Luiz Suarez and Raheem Sterling.
