A prolific start from Toby on our tips yesterday. Both Militia and Purgatory easing to victory’s and each way punt Cobb and co showing early promise. There’s a heavy burden of expectation for me to deliver today so here’s my 3 picks of the day.

There’s a stacked racing card today with both flat and jump meetings to choose from. The day begins in Ireland with the first race at Punchestown (jumps) getting underway at 13:55.

Just five minutes later at 14:00 the Hereford (jumps) card will be commencing.

The flat meeting at Musselburgh follows with a 14:05 start time, closely followed by jumps at Huntingdon at 14:10.

We then end the night with an exciting looking flat meeting at Kempton kicking off at 17:00.

My tips for the day are below.

NAP: That’s a Given – 15:35 Hereford. Stayed on really well in its last win over a month ago (2m3f). A big step up in trip today (3m) but there is no reason why the horse won’t stay on here at Hereford. It has been well rested in the build up to this step up in trip and the ground should suit so with champion jockey (Richard Johnson) riding it has every chance.

NB: Éclair de Beaufeu – 13:55 Punchestown. With some impressive wins at both Fairyhouse and Limerick this Gordon Elliot representative should be a real player in this race. A 135 rated hurdler with real class. With wins on both good and soft ground the ground here today shouldn’t be an issue. With over 6 months since its last race there is always a small risk but given a clear running, Jack Kennedy can make this a really successful comeback race today.

Each Way: Consequences – 18:30 Kempton. On to the all-weather flat meeting now and this horse is a real each way shout. Has shown some good form in recent races over 6f apart from the last race where it didn’t impress, a step up to 7f tonight the horse has plenty to prove and should pose threat to the big players.
