Stockport’s Nathan Aspinall produces magical darts to secure his fourth PDC title in Barnsley this weekend.

The world number 8 produced the darts of his life in beating world champion Peter Wright 6-4 with a 117.5 average and a magical 9-darter. The game itself had a record combined PDC average.

The Asp then went onto whitewash German superstar Gabriel Clement before Dominating Welshman Gerwyn price with an 8-3 win in the final.

Speaking after the game Aspinall said “I’ve never thrown darts like that. The last two hours of play I just felt like I wasn’t going to miss.”

This is an incredible achievement for the current premier league player who had doubts over his career at one point. Nathan was close to leaving the PDC tour all together to focus on his accountant job but now he is one of the most feared players in the PDC.

The weekend saw some positive results from some of the newcomers to the tour. Canadian Jeff Smith reached Saturdays finals and two-time BDO world champion Scott Waites reached the last 16.

One thing for sure is that Nathan Aspinall is going into the Premier league Nottingham fixture very much a man in form.
