Tommy Fleetwood took on the iconic 8th hole at Emirates Golf Club only using his putter.

Liverpool golfer Tommy Fleetwood faced Lucas Herbert and Adri Arnaus earlier this week as they attempted the one club challenge for European Tour’s Youtube channel.

They have been running the ongoing series with some of the best golfers in the world; now it was the Southport mans turn in the Arab Emirates.

They took iconic 389-yard 8th hole at Emirates Golf Club ahead of the Dubai Desert Classic, which Paul Casey won last week; this video emerged a few days after before the Saudi international.

The rules of the game are explained in the video then the participants took turns to pick a card which informed them of which club they had to take on the hole with.

“The rules are simple: each player gets assigned a club that they must complete the hole with, the lowest score wins.”

Things went just about as badly as expected when Fleetwood drew his putter to play a nearly 400-yard hole.

After a promising tee shot, which was his best during the challenge, the 30-year-old definitely began to struggle. The Liverpool golfer became even more frustrated as he witnessed Lucas Herbert parring the hole with a 7-iron.

Growing more and more frustrated, Fleetwood gave up and didn’t register a finishing score. Fleetwood eventually saw the funny side as he later joked about it on his twitter.

Fleetwood is now competing in the Saudi international, which finishes on Sunday.
