Liverpool’s Paddy Pimblett has had three weeks to cement himself as a UFC athlete after he was appointed onto the UFC roster late March in a multi-fight contract.

Paddy ‘the baddy’ boasts an impressive 16 wins and only 3 losses on his MMA record as he heads into his first UFC bout this summer.

The scouser has been active on twitter and has made his desire for a fight known. Jared ‘flash’ Gordon is top of the list for a fight. A fellow UFC Featherweight with 17 wins and 4 losses.

A fight between Gordon and Pimblett seems to be preparing itself for late July after the two had a civil discourse over social media.

Gordon is a tough 145lb fighter with 8 UFC fights under his belt. Most recently, he defeated Danny Chaves in February via unanimous decision where he out-landed the Colombian by double the strikes.

No doubt, this would be a very tough first fight for Paddy but the scouser’s accolades and ability would assist nicely as he makes a push for the UFC top 15 rankings.

An important reminder that Pimblett was the Cage Warriors featherweight world champion at the age of 21.

He is now only 26. The future is bright for ‘the baddy’.

Michael Bisping was the last UFC champion from the UK back in 2017.

The likes of Darren Till and, potentially, Pimblett are going to be pushing in their respective divisions.

Liverpool could be holding the torch of UK MMA as the lads from Liverpool push for UFC gold.
