Liverpool 6-0 Leeds United – 23rd February 2022

in their last Premier League clash Liverpool cruised to victory over a Leeds side, then managed by Marcelo Bielsa. Two goals each for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, and goals for centre-back partners Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip condemned Leeds to another defeat, and just five days later, Bielsa was sacked. This pushed the Reds towards a title charge.

Leeds United 0-3 Liverpool – 12th September 2021

In another bad defeat for Leeds, Mo Salah scored his 100th Premier League goal. Fabinho and Mane were also on the scoresheet at Elland Road. This game is mostly remembered for Pascal Strujik’s sending off after a challenge on Harvey Elliot, which left the Liverpool teenager with a dislocated ankle, an injury that kept out of action for five months.

Leeds United 1-1 Liverpool – 19th April 2021

A late Diego Llorente equaliser rescued a point for Bielsa’s Leeds, which helped to consolidate a good first season back in the Premier League. Sadio Mane put Liverpool in front earlier in the game. The Senegal forward scored four goals in five games in this fixture. The backdrop was the controversial announcement of the ill-fated Super League, which Liverpool expressed an interest in. Leeds fans protested outside the ground.

Liverpool 4-3 Leeds United – 12th September 2020

Leeds United’s first game back in the Premier League was a thriller, with Liverpool just edging The Whites 4-3. There was an opening day Mo Salah hattrick and a goal from Virgil Van Dijk. Goals from Patrick Bamford, Mateusz Klich and Jack Harrison weren’t enough for Leeds to gain a point from the fortress that is Anfield.

Liverpool 2-0 Leeds United – 29th November 2016

The two sides met in the Carabao Cup in 2016, when Leeds were in the second tier. The whites were hoping for a big upset at Anfield but were beaten 2-0 comfortably. Just three days after making his senior debut, Ben Woodburn became Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer at the age of 17 years and 45 days. Divock Origi was also on the scoresheet for Klopp’s team.
