Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has held ‘open talks’ with Al-littihad after his shock interview back in December.
Multiple outlets such as ESPN and Footmercato report that Salah and his agent are in ‘open discussions’ for a move to Saudi Arabia.
After their 3-3 draw against Leeds United in December, the forward hit out at the club for “throwing him under the bus”.
On Monday (February 9th) the Daily Mirror claimed that if Salah moved to Saudi Arabi, he could ‘treble’ his wages from around £400k a week to £1.2m a week.
Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant told Football365 he thinks the “rest of the season will be Mohamed Salah’s final few months at Liverpool”.
He added: “The drop in his performance is clear for everyone to see.”
Pennant believes if the Saudi Pro League club is willing to pay a good fee Liverpool will re-invest into the squad.
Footmercato reports that a transfer for the 33-year-old could satisfy both parties, Salah would be the one to decide the move and Liverpool would receive a transfer fee as the forward has a contract until 2027.
