Mike Jackson believes there have been plenty of good signs from his Tranmere team this season despite a slow start to life in League Two.
Jackson’s side had a good result midweek when they defeated Liverpool Under 21s in the EFL Cup group stages.
This performance as well as the goalless draw against Cambridge United last weekend were massive improvements from previous weeks.

The Tranmere boss outlined the recent positives in his press conference this afternoon.
He said: “I think I’ve seen some really good signs over last weeks performance, my team is starting to gel a little more.”
“Against Cambridge, I thought we were dominant in our attacking play, we pressed the ball and created chances.”
Tranmere have looked solid defensively apart from one game against Cheltenham a few weeks ago.
Jackson said: “I was a delighted with another clean sheet, it’s a good sign when you are not leaking goals.”
At the other end of the pitch Jackson is confident that there will be improvements. Tranmere have a host of attacking talents returning to fitness.
He said: “We have the availability of these guys now and that gives you an extra dynamic going forward.
”The players are starting to see the patterns of how we want to play, and it is a work in progress but the attacking players coming back will help us.”
Jackson seems assured that his team are starting to get familiar to the way he wants his team to operate.
“I look at the games the other night and the amount of times we turned the ball over in the oppositions half was impressive”
“We want to be pressing the ball as a pack so we can win it back and attack. I want that to be our identity of pressing the ball and winning it in high areas.”
Jackson is adamant that his team’s results will improve.
“I’ve got a feeling amongst myself and my staff and the whole club has a great feeling about it this season.”
“We understand we are representing a fantastic club with fantastic fans so we must ensure that standards are kept high and deliver good performances for the fans.”
Scunthorpe up next
Tranmere host Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
Scunthorpe have been involved in three tight games. Tranmere boss Jackson, expects another tough game this coming weekend.
“Scunthorpe will be a good team; they have some good players and we have to make sure we build on our last few games.”
