Liverpool face Watford at Anfield on Saturday (12.45pm) looking to move to the top of the Premier League.

The Reds can move above Manchester City for at least a few hours should they beat the Hornets in the early kick off.

Team News

Jurgen Klopp’s side have received a huge boost with Trent Alexander-Arnold returning to light training.

The full-back will not be risked at the weekend but will look to target the UEFA Champions League tie on Tuesday against Benfica.

Naby Keita will also be assessed ahead of the match after picking up an injury before the international break.

Andy Robertson is expected to return to the side after missing Liverpool’s FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest due to contracting COVID-19.

Previous Meetings

Liverpool thrashed Watford 5-0 at Vicarage Road in October with Roberto Firmino scoring a hat-trick.

The match also featured a special Mohammed Salah goal which replicated his goal against Manchester City a week earlier.

Watford

Since their last meeting, Watford have sacked Claudio Ranieri and replaced the Italian with former Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson.

The Hornets currently sit 18th in the table – three points from Premier League safety.

Busy Schedule

Jurgen Klopp’s side are still competing to win all four trophies – having already lifted the Carabao Cup in February.

The Watford match is the start of a massive April for the Reds.

A total eight games in the month sees the Reds compete across three different competitions.

Liverpool play Benfica over two legs in the Champions League and face Premier League leaders Manchester City in a FA Cup Semi-Final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side also face City in a crucial Premier League clash at the Etihad following the first leg.
