Cheshire Phoenix gear know two wins from a weekend double bill could place them third in the Super League Basketball table.

They team travel to Manchester Basketball tonight before returning home to the Cheshire Oaks Arena on Sunday to face Bristol Flyers.

Though dependant on the Flyers result against top of the table London Lions tonight, the Phoenix would need a win against Manchester to draw level heading into their game on Sunday, and two wins across the weekend to overtake Bristol by two points.

The Phoenix are fourth in the Super League Basketball Championship table – on 10 points – having a clean split of five wins and five losses.

Bristol are third on 12 points, having won six of their nine games.

Phoenix are in Group 2 of the Championship Trophy along with Manchester Basketball and Leicester Riders, and are first in the group having beaten both teams.

One of their most in-form players this season is Patrick Robinson, who sits second in the overall league stats for average points per game, two pointers made and free throws made per game.

Robinson is also leading the Phoenix team in overall points from their 10 league games this season, with a total of 176 points, 44 points ahead of second placed Skyler White on 132.

Phoenix have three wins and two losses in their last five league games, though their Halloween loss to Leicester Riders was decided by just two points.

They come into these two games off the back of a 15-point loss to London Lions, who remain undefeated at the top of the Super League Basketball table.

Their Friday opponents are sixth in the Super League Championship table, having won three of their seven games so far.

Manchester Basketball have only played once in the Championship Trophy, against the Cheshire Phoenix, a game which they lost 77-82 at the beginning of November.

The two teams have also met this season in the Super League Championship, on the opening game of the season, when Manchester earned a narrow 92-89 victory.

Matthew Nicholson leads the league for Manchester Basketball in the average blocks made per game, whilst Gabriel Osbuhein falls second in average offensive rebounds per game

Max Jones is the highest scoring player for Manchester in the league, having tallied 117 points across their seven games.

Bristol Flyers have already played Cheshire Phoenix in the league this season, with Phoenix winning 95-86 last month.

Like the Phoenix, the Flyers are also first in their Championship Trophy group, however have only played one game, a victory against Surrey 89ers.

Bristol’s Cameron Holden is second in average assists in the overall league stats, averaging 5.4 per game.

William Yoakum has scored the most points across their nine games, with 137, 28 higher that second placed Flyer Joseph Anderson on 109.
