Ever since bursting on the scene at the 2024 World Darts Championship, Luke Littler’s rise has been meteoric.
The 18-year-old beat Luke Humphries to claim the Grand Slam of Darts following a 16-11 victory over the previous world number one.
This makes him the youngest PDC World Number One of all time.

At the age of 16, Luke Littler had reached the PDC World Championship final only to lose out to Luke Humphries 7-4 in the final, since then the lad from Warrington has gone from strength to strength.
Since then, Littler took part in the PDC World Series in Bahrain, where he defeated Michael Van Gerwen 8-5 in the final to win his first PDC event.
In the quarter-final the Warrington born got his first live televised nine-dart finish in his win against Nathan Aspinall.
Earlier this year the youngster made more history when he became the youngest player ever to win the PDC World Championship at the age of 17.
Littler dispatched Van Gerwen as he raced into a 4-0 lead before winning 7-3 at Alexandra Palace.
Rivalry with Luke Humphries
Humphries first defeated the then 16-year-old Littler to win his first PDC World Championship in 2023 and since then have both have endured an epic feud.

They’ve faced each other in seven finals since 2024, and ‘Cool Hand Luke’ started off strongest winning the first three of four matches they played. Since then, the ‘Nuke’ has come of age winning three on the spin, including a 16-11 win last time out.
Prize fund
The PDC World Ranking prize money is based on a two-year period and how players get on during major competitions.
Luke Littler sits top of the leader board with £1.8 million and leads for the first time. Michael Van Gerwen is third on the list earing over £741,250.
Due to Littler’s dominance over the last two-year reaching and winning numerous finals this has helped him to top the leader board for the first time.
Following success, the inevitable fame came with Littler with Warrington Wolves renaming their stadium after the 18-year-old just for one game to celebrate his success.
Other moments of fame have been where he has been a guest on the Jonathan Ross show and appeared in more online searches than King Charles and Sir Kier Starmer in 2024.
