The Soccer Dome in Wallasey are staging a 24-hour walking football marathon in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, with the help of their over 60’s group.
The event starts at 10am on February 7th and sees the pensioners compete until the following morning in the aim of raising £5,000 for the charity.
The disease is the most common cancer in the UK, primarily affecting those in their seventies with one in eight men likely to be diagnosed in their lifetime.

The Soccer Dome have held similar fundraisers in the past, and manager Becky Fitzsimons says the support they receive from their customers is incredible.
She said: “We’re all about family in here, and it’s events like this that make you realise how big of a community we actually have and we’re very fortunate for that.
“We like to do things properly and I’d like to raise £5,000. The guys are all about creating awareness and getting everyone together under the same umbrella of support for the charity.”
Merseysport Live went along to speak to those involved. Watch below.
