Boxing hall of famer Frank Warren has hailed Nick Ball as the “pound for pound best fighter in the United Kingdom”.
Merseysider Ball is aiming to defend his WBA world featherweight title for the fourth time on Saturday (February 7th) in front of a home Liverpool crowd at the M&S Bank Arena against Brandon Figueroa.
Warren said: “This has the potential to be fight of the year.”
Ball admitted this will be his toughest test yet, as Figueroa stands seven inches taller than him.
However, the champion said: “The taller they are, the harder they fall.
“It’s going to end in a win for Nick Ball.”

Figueroa is a former two-weight world champion and says he “can’t wait” to become champion again.
In response to Ball’s claims, he said: “They all say the same thing and it never works out the way they want it to.”
Scousers Jack Turner and Andrew Cain are also fighting on the card against Juan Carlos Martinez Urbina and Alejandro Gonzalez respectively.
Despite Martinez Urbina being an unknown quantity, Turner said: “I’m going to put him through some pain.”
When asked about his fight predictions, Turner confidently responded: “Jack Turner knockout.”

Cain believes he is going to outbox Gonzalez and “get him out of there.”
He said: “I’ll beat anyone in the world.
“I’m always looking for a devastating knockout.”
The event is brought to you by Queensberry Promotions and will be broadcast live on DAZN on Saturday 7th February with the card packed with North-West Fighters.
