Tranmere Rovers boss Andy Crosby has described the trip to Swindon Town as “a test we are ready for”, writes Adam Eakin.

His side head into the game on the back of a 3-1 home defeat to Stockport County in the FA Cup first round last weekend.

But they are currently unbeaten in their last three League Two matches.

Swindon Town are second in the league but are winless in their last three league games.

Crosby said: “We know what they are going to do and what we need to do to play well and get a result.

“Our away form has been really consistent over a period of time now. We look like we can score.”

Tranmere’s Nathan Smith also believes the team are prepared for what they think Swindon are going to bring and believes “they are going to come firing.”

Smith currently has three goals in 14 league games from centre back this season and believes “a successful team doesn’t lean on strikers to score every single goal”.

Crosby stated the importance of his side’s ability to find goals from all areas of the pitch and praised attacker Charlie Whitaker for his progress so far this season.

Tranmere are still suffering from injuries as defender Lee O’Connor has picked up another knock and is unavailable.

Crosby expressed his desire for a full squad to be available as it has been a “rarity” for his side over the last few months.

Swindon will be without their top goalscorer Aaron Drinan after the Irishman got sent off in their FA Cup victory at Rotherham last week.

A win for Tranmere could see them rise to 14th in the table.
