Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes that fans will be asking if Arne Slot is the right person to revive the Liverpool squad.

Carragher said that Slot should be worried about getting the Liverpool supporters back on his side after their 1-1 draw to Tottenham at home.

Speaking on Monday Night Football he said: “The booing at the end, that was proper booing, that was a really unhappy and disgruntled fanbase and I think it is going to be really difficult to get them back.

“Once you lose that crowd, it is very difficult.”

Liverpool face Galatasaray tonight at Anfield and will be hoping to progress to the next round of the Champions League.

Carragher added: “Could a new manager revitalise these players and bring that energy and intensity back into this team?

“I’m not sure. I think a lot of it goes back to what happened in the summer, the profile of the players coming in.”

If the Reds can overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit, they will play PSG in the knockout stages after they beat Chelsea 8-2.

The biggest question if Liverpool don’t win tonight will be will Arne Slot still have a job?
