Liverpool’s Colombian winger Luis Diaz is in contention to return form injury in time to face Manchester City on Saturday.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be pleased that Diaz will be able for selection again after an injury-plagued season.

Diaz has been out of action since picking up a Knee injury against Arsenal back in October.

After setbacks in his recovery there is optimism that Diaz can return to the squad after individual training during the international break.

Klopp will be relieved to have Diaz back in contention with the winger being a key player for the side after his £50million move from Porto in January 2022.

Since joining the club he has scored seven goals in 21 appearances in the Premier League.

Liverpool suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality in their last Premier League fixture.

The Reds will be hoping they can find consistency in the upcoming weeks to put pressure on their top four rivals.

Klopp’s side currently sit sixth in the Premier League seven points behind Tottenham Hotspur but do have two games in hand on the North London club.

Liverpool face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, live on BT Sport.

Going into the fixture Liverpool will be hoping to complete the league double on Manchester City after defeating Pep Guardiola’s side 1-0 at Anfield earlier this season.

Klopp  has the advantage in the head to head against Guardiola with Liverpool beating City three times in the last five fixtures against the current Premier League Champions.

In the last meeting between the two sides Manchester City won 3-2 in the EFL Cup fixture at the Etihad Stadium.
